Avoiding efflorescence - by adding HYDROMIX-Fluid 50 water-repellents into the concrete mix
The so-called 'efflorescence' on concrete is free lime, which settles on the surface as calcium carbonate CaCO3 on the surface, causing discussions, complaints and headache for the producers. There is an effective remedy however - adding a special water-repelling admixture HYDROMIX-Fluid 50.
The principle is quite easy. If no water penetrates the concrete, no calcium can be transported to the surface through humidity evaporation, the trigger for CaCo3 formation on the surface. For example, coloured concrete paving stones are a standard field of application for the HYDROMIX-Fluid 50 admixture.
