Concrete with a polished surface differs from smooth form-finished concrete in that the top layer of the concrete is removed with grinding/polishing tools, thereby exposing the aggregates added in the concrete mix design. Polished concrete surfaces usually feel smoother, are more robust and more wear-resistant. The best known example of this type of surface is terrazzo.

The grinding/polishing process is made of several steps. It starts with a coarse polish (coarse grit) first and ends up with a finer polish (fine grit). Wet polishing, i.e. on a wet concrete surface, is recommended because it is efficient. Nonetheless, dry polishing is also possible.

Diamond Hand Polishing Pads
The Hand Polishing Pads have a diamond-coated side available in different grit sizes, depending on the fineness of the grinding. The size of the Hand Pad is 95 x 55 mm, which makes them very easy to handle. They are suitable for both wet and dry polishing. The Hand Polishing Pads for concrete are washable and reusable. Our Hand Polishing Pads are available in 7 different grit sizes, from coarse to fine (60, 120 ,200, 400, 800, 1500, 3000).
