HEBAU Tipp!
Concrete structures are created in separate, timed sequences. The foundations of a building, for instance, are not laid at the same time as the walls. This means that some surface areas have an additional connecting layer of concrete, such as the construction joints, which are the interface between the old and the newly cast concrete.
To fulfil their structural performance requirements long-term, construction joints have to bond well to one another. A smoother surface here has lower adhesion and a poor bond. Whereas, a construction joint with a rough surface has higher adhesion and a good bond.
For this very reason, Civil Engineers require “rough” construction joints.
Follow our guidelines to create your own “rough” joints with HEBAU CSE® Deactivator Technology very easily.
Application:
1. A The freshly poured concrete construction joint surface is spayed with CSE® Deactivator.
2.A After approx. 24 hours, The surface is washed off with a pressure water jet. Ready.
1.B The CSE® Deactivator is applied onto the mould surface and is given time to dry. The concrete is cast as usual.
2.B Right after demoulding,
The surface is washed off with a pressure water jet. Ready.
